The Sierra reels are fitted with a Teflon disc drag. The drag is controlled by a one-way roller bearing, which allows for drag-free retrievals. The retrieval direction is easily converted by reversing the bearing direction.

ALC : AlumiLite construction incorporates Okuma's new aluminum body technology on both spinning and bait casting reels. Aluminum frames are very rigid and can withstand tremendous amounts of pressure and torque. These frames also provide for precise tolerances between moving parts for ultimate smoothness and durability.

Drag Free Retrieval : The Drag Free Retrieval system allows anglers to crank freely with no resistance by utilizing our corrosion resistant stainless steel roller bearing. This is a one-way roller bearing so the spool is only engaged in one direction. As soon as you spin the handle backwards you have instant drag engagement. By reversing this bearing in the spool, you can quickly change the handle retrieve direction.
