If you cast with your right hand and retrieve with your left hand then you want Left Hand Retrieve.
If you cast with your left hand and retrieve with your right hand then you want Right Hand Retrieve.
Note: Some prefer to use the same hand for casting and retrieving by setting the hook before switching the rod to the opposite hand. This is perfectly acceptable. The important thing is that you retrieve with the hand with which you are most comfortable (fastest retrieve).
Backing Material Information
For a small fee we will put 20# test Dacron backing material by 3M-Scientific Anglers on to your reel.
Be sure to select your retrieve (see above).

RIO Grand® Fly Line - for Fast Action Fly Rods
The RIO Grand® is an all-around line with distinctive state-of-the-art technology to benefit the trout fly fisher.
The line and tip float extremely high due to AgentX Technology in the line and Super Floatation Tip, RIO’s proprietary manufacturing processes which gives the RIO Grand maximum floatation.
The weight forward taper is one half size heavier to load the faster modern fly rod, yet it gives a smooth light delivery of even the smallest dry fly and the rear taper is long enough for roll casting.
The product of RIO’s SlickShooter™ Process, the RIO Grand fly line incorporates a supple coldwater, super slick, self-lubricating, dirt-resistant coating on a nylon multifilament core.
RIO has included a welded loop on the front end of the fly line to facilitate changing leaders.
Tests have found excellent turnover and presentation with this loop.
When landing fish, it slides through the rod guides more easily than the customary nail knot. Traditionalists can cut this loop off and not compromise the taper.
This is the perfect line for wet or dry fly fishing.
Available in a 4wt (WF-4-F), 5wt (WF-5-F), or 6wt (WF-6-F) on this reel.

RIO NYMPH Fly Line - High Floating - Indicator Tip - NEW
Use the RIO Nymph line for nymph fishing under all fishing conditions, whether indicator, high stick or dead
drift nymphing and terrestrials. Rated number one by Western professional guides for deep nymphing using
strike indicators and long drag free drifts. The taper design, with both a long back taper and body for easy roll
casting, mending and fly control, enhances casting weighted nymphs, indicators and big air-resistant flies.
RIO’s new high floatation technology creates a super high floating tip that stays up under normal conditions.
This high visibility tip is a built-in strike indicator which can be cut off without affecting the casting
performance. The Nymph line has welded loops on both ends for easy rigging and fast leader
changes.

Coldwater Clouser™ Fly Line for Big Nasties
Casting heavy or wind-resistant flies has always been a challenge, even for good casters. RIO collaborated with Bob Clouser, famed fly tier, guide, instructor and conservationist, best known for inventing the Clouser Minnow, one of the most versatile flies for both fresh and saltwater. The Clouser™ line, with a unique reverse compound taper and a bullet front taper, smoothly transfers energy to prevent the characteristic “kick” with heavily weighted flies. This taper effortlessly turns over heavy flies into the wind for both short and long casts. Whether casting Clouser Minnows for stripers or smallmouth bass, poppers, leaded leeches or heavy nymphs and indicators, the Clouser line is a perfect choice for all anglers.
Available in a 4wt (WF-4-F), 5wt (WF-5-F) or 6wt (WF-6-F) on this reel.

Every once in awhile a product comes along that is worth buying not only due for its quality and performance, but also because it promotes a good cause. Jim Teeny and company are offering this fly line to complement Temple Fork Outfitters' Casting for Recovery Fly Rods.
A portion of proceeds from the sale of these very special items are donated directly to the Casting for Recovery campaign, which is dedicated to assisting women recovering from breast cancer, through fly fishing.
Casting for Recovery & Hope is a national non-profit, support and educational program for women who have or have had breast cancer. The program offers an opportunity for women whose lives have been profoundly affected by the disease to gather in a beautiful, natural setting and learn fly-fishing, “a sport of line”. Just as importantly, CFR offers an opportunity to meet new friends and have fun!

Bonefish Fly Line
The demands of bonefishing require a balance of long and short casts with precise presentation. RIO’s Bonefish fly line does just that, starting with a medium-length front taper to improve turnover without sacrificing presentation, and a slightly longer back taper to smooth out the casting loop. The tropical AgentX coating combined with a Powerflex single-strand monofilament core results in longer casts and a line that will not wilt in most extreme tropical conditions. With AgentX, the line floats higher than competitors’ lines, is easier to pick up off the water, and unlike competing products the running line will not sink and tangle while wading. Includes a welded loop at both ends for easy rigging.

A must-have line for the serious lake angler. Castability has always been a problem with clear intermediate sinking lines because there are no lubricants in the coating and the lines drag through the guides. RIO has solved the problem by incorporating proprietary lubricants into the running line coating that make the line slick. The running line is translucent green while the head is completely clear. With an intermediate sinking rate of 1.5 – 2.0 inches per second (3.7 cm/s), the line is perfect for fishing subsurface and shallow shore lines. Ideal when stealth is required for wary, selective fish. Made on a low memory supple monofilament core with a coldwater coating and welded loop on the front end.

T Series 24ft Sink Tip Fly Line by Jim Teeny
Jim Teeny's original plan was to develop a one piece fly line with a sinking deep water express shooting head mated with a floating running line that would be easy to cast and very strong. That it would be perfectly balanced and color coded so one could easily see when they could roll cast or pick the line up off the water at the optimum time for the easiest and best results. Because he lives on the west coast, the lines were originally designed for fly fishing for salmon and steelhead on our west coast rivers and streams.
Shortly after their introduction, it was apparent that many other fly anglers had their own ideas about other uses for the lines. In the salt for stripers, blue fish, halibut, bill fish, Tarpon and many others, all fell prey to the T - Series lines. Realistically, what the T - Series & Saltwater Series fly lines have done is open up new fisheries both fresh and saltwater. There is hardly a fish that we cannot go after and quite possibly land with a certain amount of luck.

150 Grain TS-T Series 24ft Sink Tip Fly Line by Jim Teeny
The New TS-T Flats Taper line has a 10 foot Clear Tip (slow sinking) along with 14 feet of regular intermediate sinking line. Total tip length is 24' of slow sinking head and 76 feet Floating. This line comes one piece from the factory for greater strength and smoothness when casting.
The big advantage this line will have is on fish that are swimming deeper and it's important that your fly be presented at the proper level. After experimenting with the clear tip or clear lines it's been proven time and time again that an all clear or long clear tip is a definite disadvantage for the angler and also for the guide. They are to hard to see and follow for accurate casts and presentation. Teeny designed a similar line back in the early 80's for Tarpon fishing at Homosassa Springs in Florida. Many seasons passed by as he longed for a line such as this for his arsenal.

This full sinking fly line was developed for the expert competition reservoir “buzzer” or chironomid anglers in the United Kingdom who need to get their flies down deep and fast. The Deep 7, built on an ultra thin single-strand monofilament core, is one of the fastest and most durable sinking lines in the world. It gets flies down deep and generates high line speed. North American anglers find it useful fishing in waters such as the Kamloops area of British Columbia or the desert lakes of the U.S. The Deep 7 is created for a 7 weight fly rod, but can be used on 5 – 8 weight.

Coldwater VersiTip Interchangeable Tip Fly Line by RIO
Evolved from the WindCutter® fly line design, the VersiTip has the RIO non-hinging welded loop design and four interchangeable sinking tips. The smooth, slim welded loops will not foul in the guides. Unlike other sink tips, this line is designed with a thick belly to turn over heavy sinking density tips. Attach either the Clouser taper floating tip or one of the sinking tips directly to the belly.
It is the fly line favored by Alaskan guides for all species and by steelhead fly fishers. With the VersiTip line, the fly fisher is always prepared to meet all fishing conditions. Made with a memory-free coldwater coating and core.
Available in a 4wt (WF-4-TIPS), 5wt (WF-5-TIPS), or 6wt (WF-6-TIPS) on this reel.
