Fly Rod 6wt, 12ft-6in, 4pc Lefty Kreh Professional Series Spey Fly Rod by Temple Fork Outfitters
The modern two handed rod has evolved into a much more versatile fishing tool than the Scots of long ago had in mind when they fashioned rods made of Greenheart wood of up to 20 feet long. Today the two handed rod is not only used in the tradition of Spey casting for Atlantic salmon, there are several very specific applications, as well. This lighter and shorter two handed rod is perfect for pursuing trout and overhead applications such as on jetties or in the surf to launch flies at a variety of saltwater species.
TFO has just introduced their Large Abor Fly Reel. It's machined aluminum and has a graphite composite disc drag that's super smooth... there's not any chaffing when the drag engages ... just smooth stopping power.
Pick one up and give the handle a spin...you'll think you've discovered a perpetual motion machine...it's so well balanced it seems to spin forever.
If you cast with your right hand and retrieve with your left hand then you want Left Hand Retrieve.
If you cast with your left hand and retrieve with your right hand then you want Right Hand Retrieve.
Note: Some prefer to use the same hand for casting and retrieving by setting the hook before switching the rod to the opposite hand. This is perfectly acceptable. The important thing is that you retrieve with the hand with which you are most comfortable (fastest retrieve).
Backing Material Information
We will put 20# test Dacron backing material by 3M-Scientific Anglers on to your reel.
Be sure to select your retrieve (see above).
Standard Backing is built with advanced 3M technology that allows 3M to create small diameter backing without losing the inherent strength of the backing material.
Features:
Exceptionally thin material for more reel capacity
Low coefficient of friction minimizes wear on guides
High abrasion resistance
Colorfast
Extremely high visibility
Optional Spey Lines for this Rod and Reel
We'll spool up your reel to capacity and tie on the Windcutter Spey Line of your choice.
Be sure to select which retrieve you prefer.
The RIO Windcutter Weight-Forward Floating Spey Line is included in the price of this combo.
You may select to upgrade to the Interchangeable Tips Version of the Windcutter Spey Line for an additional fee.

3X 6lb. 9ft. Monofilament Tapered Leader
RIO Powerflex Monofilament Tapered Leaders
Each RIO Powerflex knotless tapered leader is designed for superb abrasion resistance as well as high knot and tensile strength. The long butt design provides smooth turnover while the supple tippet gives the fly lifelike presentation. The graduated tapers have corresponding stepped butt diameters. Tapers are made with thick butts to turn over heavy flies and thinner butts for smaller flies.
RIO knotless leaders have a high tech "best maximum pull" ratio to orient the molecules in a linear chain. This means that RIO's leaders return to their original taper after a fight. The light gray color is the most neutral and integrates visually with any background for perfect camouflage.
All RIO trout tapered leaders have Perfection Loops tied in the butt section to facilitate changing leaders.

RIO Fluorocarbon Leaders
When stealth and accurate presentations are required for wary fish, the RIO Fluoroflex Knotless Tapered Leader is the leader of choice. The leaders are nearly invisible and feature superb knot strength, and abrasion resistance. In the tradition of RIO, the leader tapers are designed and extruded to exacting tolerances. Since Fluorocarbon is denser than nylon, the Fluorflex leaders will sink faster than traditional nylon leaders.
These leaders are a good choice for fishing chironomids and emergers in lakes.
